AMATEUR FOOTBAL: CHADDERTONIANS came from behind to draw 2-2 in a hard-fought encounter against Failsworth Dynamos in the Lancashire Amateur League premier division.
Title-hopefuls Chadds started brightly — they created several good chances — but had to wait until 10 minutes before half-time to go in front, Steve Barrow getting the goal.
However, Dynamos took control after the break and equalised courtesy of a superb lob, before nosing ahead from close-range.
But Chadds equalised almost immediately through Jack Barnes after good work from Dave Ashworth.
Oldham Hulmeians remain ninth in division two after a 3-1 defeat by Old Boltonians reserves.
The local side didn’t get going until after half-time, by which time they were 2-0 down, but Paul Hinchliffe headed home Danny Tate’s corner to give them hope with 20 minutes to play.
Hulmeians pushed for the equaliser but were caught on the counter-attack in the last few minutes as the visitors clinched victory with their third.
In division four, Chadds ‘A’ suffered their first defeat since last October when they went down 2-1 at home to Old Blackburnians ‘A’. Dale Myers scored the consolation goal.
Hulmeians reserves are sitting in the top half of division five after a comprehensive 4-0 victory at Bury GSOB ‘A’. Gareth Sykes (two), Elliot McKinnell and Chris Hope provided the goals.
In division seven, one goal was enough for Hulmeians ‘A’ to claim all three points at Horwich RMI ‘A’ while Hulmeians ‘B’ lost 4-1 against Radcliffe Town ‘B’.
