AMATEUR RUGBY LEAGUE:
OLDHAM St Anne’s won 28-10 at home to Castleford Lock Lane to all-but secure promotion back to National Conference League division one.
The win means Saints are in the second automatic promotion place and can only be caught if Stanley Rangers win their last two matches and score a mountain of points in the process.
Saddleworth Rangers also produced a superb victory, beating Castleford Panthers 50-4 on home soil to reinforce their promotion credentials at the head of division one, while in division two Waterhead signed off their home season with a 20-10 triumph over Shaw Cross Sharks.
