Tonge open new season in style

BOWLS: TONGE made a flying start to their Manchester Premier Bowls League campaign with a 12-4 (196-174) victory at Warrington side Pierpoints.

Winners for Tonge were Jimmy Derby (21-16), Matt Gillies (21-17), Darren Griffiths (21-13), Stuart Mort (21-20), Gary Ellis (21-7) and Steve Squire (21-17).

Tonge are at home to Wigan outfit Garswood Hall next Wednesday (7.30pm).


OLDHAM Veterans’ Indoor Bowling League presentation will be held at North Chadderton Social and Bowling Club next Wednesday (1.30pm). Tickets (£1) are available on the door
