AMATEUR RUGBY LEAGUE: OLDHAM St Anne’s have been confirmed as promoted to National Conference League division one after rivals Stanley Rangers went down to a 42-20 loss at Castleford Lock Lane.
The celebrations have now begun in earnest for the Higginshaw Road club, who are assured a second-placed finish in division two after completing their league programme.
In division two, Waterhead won 26-22 at Ovenden to round off their season.
OLDHAM RU took another step towards safety in North Lancs/Cumbria Division with an 18-12 home win over Aldwinians.
