NON-LEAGUE FOOTBALL:
RED-HOT Mossley are finishing the season with a flourish and they could still reach the UniBond League division one north play-offs.
The Lilywhites face a run of 10 games in April — they were hit hard by postponements either side of Christmas and New Year — but John Flanagan’s have started the month on fire.
They have won their first four matches and are looking for number five at Colwyn Bay tonight (kick-off 7.45pm).
But this is Mossley’s toughest assignment yet as their hosts sit third in the table, albeit 18 points adrift of high-flying Halifax Town.
Matty Kay got the all-important goal for Mossley against Radcliffe Borough on Saturday. He has scored in five of the last six matches, which included a double at home to AFC Fylde at the start of April.
CHADDERTON are on a roll in division one of the Vodkat North-West Counties League.
Three wins in a row, against Stone Dominoes, Oldham Boro and AFC Blackpool, has lifted the Broadway outfit to 10th place.
They go in search of another maximum points haul with a trip to Norton United tonight (7.45pm), but manager Paul Buckley will be forced to ring the changes.
The midfield trio of James Mooney (hamstring), Gaz Morris (unavailable) and Chris Pauley (work commitments), who played a major part in the defeat at Blackpool, are missing.
However, the Chadderton boss can call upon Leon Melia, Sean Nolan and Troy Hayder, who were absent last weekend, but are now back in contention.
OLDHAM Boro manager Tony Mills also faces a reshuffle for the visit of Irlam to the Whitebank Stadium tonight (7.45pm).
Ryan Baldwin, who suffered a back spasm during the defeat to Barnoldswick Town on Saturday, is out, so too Duncan Philbin, because of work.
But the return of midfield talisman and leading scorer Tom Hughes from a ban is a boost for Mills as his side look to get back on track.
