NON-LEAGUE FOTBALL: MOSSLEY are on a recovery mission in UniBond League division one north this weekend.
The Lilywhites, who are away to Skelmersdale tomorrow, endured a body blow to their outside play-off aspirations last night.
John Flanagan’s side suffered their second defeat in three days when they lost 4-1 to Curzon Ashton at Hurst Cross.
Andy Watson scored Mossley’s consolation, while Dean Canning (two) and Michael Norton (two) got the Curzon goals.
OLDHAM Boro manager couldn’t fault his players for effort in the 3-1 defeat at home to Irlam in midweek — and is looking for the same commitment when they entertain AFC Liverpool in division one of the Vodkat North-West Counties League tomorrow.
Boro were down to the bare bones on Tuesday night — they had 11 players and one substitute who was goalkeeper — but they gave as good as they got.
“I couldn’t have a go at them,” said Mills. “They played well in difficult circumstances. In fact, we probably played our best football of the season in the first half.”
Mills will welcome back Duncan Philbin, Arnold Nsimbe, Darren Scanlan and Will Buckley for the visit of AFC Liverpool, who have stumbled of late in their bid for promotion.
But Tom Hughes, who returned to action after a ban in midweek, is unavailable.
CHADDERTON are without a fixture tomorrow.
