Stalwart Alan passes away

BOWLS: Alan Wood, beaten finalist in the 1965 Waterloo Handicap in Blackpool and well known on the local bowls scene, has died at the age of 76.
Among the top clubs Mr Wood represented were the Star Inn, Failsworth, and Chadderton Cot.
He was a staunch supporter of Tonge's Manchester Premier League team, attending every match home and away.
