MOSSLEY players stride out at Wembley 30 years ago for the FA Trophy final.
NON-LEAGUE FOOTBALL:
MOSSLEY AFC have organised a celebration dinner on May 14 to commemorate 30 years since the club’s famous appearance at Wembley in the final of the FA Trophy.
They have contacted all the members of the squad apart from Ian Smith, who they believe lives in the Sheffield area.
Mossley lost 2-1 to Dagenham on the day.
The function, which is being at the club, is already a sell-out.
The Mossley squad for the 1979-80 season was: John Fitton, Mike Lacey, Colin D’Arcy, Alan Brown, Dave Vaughan, Harry Pollitt, John Salter, Dave Mobley, Kevin Gorman, Jimmy O’Connor, Phil Wilson, Peter McQuade, Chris Edwards, Ian Smith, Kevan Keelan, Leo Skeete, Steve Skeete, Dave Moore.
