GOLF: CROMPTON and Royton women’s team defeated Ashton and Lea 4-1 with wins from Bernice Fitton, Zoe Styles, Lynn Truelove and Sarah Penney.

And there was also success against Whitefield in a Bell Cup match, Crompton and Royton winning 4-3 with wins from Styles, Truelove, Pauline Givvons and Shirley J Brown.

Chris Rimmer and Elaine Burston (37 pts), Jennifer Workman and Jennifer Kenworthy (34) and Brown and Val Hall (30) were the club qualifiers for the Scott Leggett Foursomes.
