ANGLING: DAVE Wolstenholme used pole and chopped worm to catch 25lb of carp and silvers and win the Todmorden AS open match on Croft.



Second-placed Mick Clegg landed three carp taken on the tip and meat in a total of 24lb 8oz, while carp and plenty of ide gave John Mellor a fine catch of 20lb 14oz. Danny Stuart (16lb 10oz) was fourth.




SATURDAY’S Medlock Bridge AC open match on the park lake produced decent catches, with winner Chris Davies (Tight Lines) landing three bream, 10 decent roach and plenty of bits all falling to maggot, caster and 13-metre pole, adding up to a level 16lb.



Steve Clegg (Saints) caught 30 chub and plenty of roach for a second-best 14lb 10oz, while third-placed Darren Taylor landed 11lb 6oz of roach, chub and a solitary skimmer.




VENUE GUIDE



Park lake – Waggler and pole scoring, with either caster and hemp or maggot the best baits for roach and chub.

Huddersfield Narrow Canal – Small fish feeding well on Mossley lengths. Try bread punch or squatt for plenty of bites.

Rochdale Canal – Good fishing, with Rose of Lancaster length for roach and the odd bream. Plenty of skimmers and tench.

Chadderton Mill Lodge – Maggot, caster, pellet for a fish every put-in.
