Radclyffe hit the ground running

CRICKET:
RADCLYFFE, last season’s runners-up in the Ashton and Oldham Cricket Alliance, started with a win at Heyside thirds.
The home side, batting first, were dismissed for 93. S Wright bowled well with figures of four for nine.
In reply, M Chambers’ unbeaten 63 made sure of maximum points for Radclyffe, who made 95 for one.
At Newtonhurst the home side recorded 143 for four against Friends, with G Hough 34 not out.
Friends were struggling on 49 for five until Moshin’s 43 edged them closer to their target.
It was then left to Rizwan and Nadeem, with unbeaten 20s, to clinch victory on 144 for eight.
S Jolly top scored with 29 as St Mary’s HC made 111 for eight against Greengate, who replied with 112 for six. L Buckley recorded 22.
An impressive 67 from M Kazi saw Foresters record 213 for seven against Europa Exiles.
The Europa innings didn’t start well, but an eighth-wicket partnership of 90 between G Buxton and G Smith earned two points for the visitors on 162 for eight.

Waterhead put PM in a spin
SPRINGHEAD strolled to victory at Blackley in the Site Electrical North Manchester League division one.
They recorded 269 for seven before dismissing their opponents for just 77.
East Lancs PM were all out for 217 against Failsworth Macedonia, who lost all their wickets for 189.
In division two, Saddleworth thirds slumped to 70 all out before Roytonians cruised to 71 for three.
Springhead seconds went down to a defeat at the hands of Edgworth thirds in division four.
Edgworth finished on 178 for nine, and Springhead were dismissed for 108.
