Todmorden offer free taster day to attract new blood

Angling:

TODMORDEN AS are staging a free taster day on the Canal Street length of the Rochdale Canal at Littleborough this weekend.

The sessions will take place on Sunday from 10am to 4pm, with no rod licence, permits bait or tackle needed.

Five Angling Trust coaches will be on hand for individual tuition. Any Juniors wishing to improve their skill are also welcome to turn up. Anglers should meet on the car park at the rear of the Littleborough station by the canal.

EIGHT Bells AC can boast a superb match list in 2010, with a wide variety of venues and plenty of fish on offer.


Dates and venues are:

May 16, New Pool at Travin Sands Fishery; June 6, Bradshaws number four lodge; June 20, Meadow pool at Heronbrook Fisheries (two keepnets required); July 4, Blundells Fisheries on Oak and Willow lakes; July 18, Meridian Canal at Border Fisheries (two keepnets required); August 1, Heronbrook on Meadow pool (two keepnets required); August 15, Milton Green pool three; September 12, Brookside Fisheries Mallard pool; October 3, Bradshaws number four lodge.

To book pegs, telephone the match secretary two weeks prior to the event.

Non members can book on or after the Monday prior to the match.

Venue Guide



Park Lake: Waggler and pole with either maggot or casters for plenty of roach and chub. Bream to pellet.

Huddersfield Narrow Canal: SADAS waters are day-ticket and provide good sport with chub, carp and bream.

Rochdale Canal: Under rated water. Plenty of small hand-sized skimmers and roach. Tench and bream on bigger baits.
