FOOTBALL:

DELIGHTED Diggle ‘A’ celebrate the climax of a memorable season by collecting the Huddersfield and District reserves division two trophy.

They won the title after going the entire league campaign unbeaten.

Frank Beaumont, president of the Huddersfield and District League, is seen here handing the silverware to skipper Dave Walters.

Alex Marsh, who co-manages the team with Howard Johnson, said: “We knew we had a good team but I didn’t see us going unbeaten all season!

“We drew five times but beat the nearest side to us, West End, on both occasions.

“It’s not always easy to keep a big squad happy but when the results are going our way, nobody minds.”
