Tara to host £2,000 open

TOP players from across the country are set to converge on the Tara Leisure Centre for the £2,000 Oldham Darts Open.
In the biggest event of its kind to be held in the town, some of the sport’s leading exponents will go head to head on Saturday, May 22.
The champion will collect a cool £1,000, but competition is expected to be tough.
Tara Leisure are erecting 16 dart boards as they are anticipating a bumper entry for such a mouth-watering first prize.
The opening rounds are best of five legs, increasing to seven for the semi-finals and nine for the final.
Entry is £10 or £12 on the day, and players must be registered by 11am for a noon start. There is no limit to the number of players who can take part.
To book a place in the tournament, send a cheque, payable to D Garfield, to his address at 3, Wood Street, Shaw, Oldham, OL2 7LS. Entries can also be made at Treble Darts and Trophies, 54, Yorkshire Street, Oldham, between 10.30am and 4.30pm.
