GOLF: REIGNING Oldham and District Rabbits League champions Dukinfield suffered a surprise 8-0 defeat at Houldsworth in their opening match.

Houldsworth share top spot with Brookdale, who have a 100-per-cent record, beating Stamford 5-3 in their first match and Fairfield 7-1 in their second.

Stamford are hot on the heels of the two leaders, just one point behind, after their 8-0 drubbing of Oldham.

Harry Marshall, Stamford’s vice-captain, who is returning to Rabbits action after a year out, had three birdies during his round.
