BRENDA Keaney scored 40 Stableford points to win the Lucy Smith Plate at CROMPTON and ROYTON.
The competition, run each year by the club’s lady vice-captain in aid of MacMillan Nurses, is held in memory of former club member Lucy, whose husband Kenneth donated a silver plate.
Mr Smith was unable to attend the presentation because of illness, but his partner Dorothy, son Clive and grandson Michael performed the prizegiving in his absence.
Audrey Whittaker, this year’s lady vice-captain, also presented Brenda with a gold bracelet.
Joyce Adams (39 points) was second in the competition, just ahead of Maureen Delaney (38).
