CRICKET: GREENGATE enjoyed a convincing win at home to Europa Exiles in the Ashton and Oldham Cricket Alliance.
Europa batted first and were dismissed for 111, A Hodgson top scoring with 34. R Jackson took three for 11.
Fairclough’s 30 not out helped Greengate to reach their target with six wickets in hand.
Second-placed Foresters hosted Radclyffe and made 239 for eight, Guduru scoring 81.
And despite M Chambers putting 57 on the board, the visitors were bowled out for 98.
Newtonhurst raced to 200 for five against Heyside thirds, A Miller scoring 42.
Chasing a lofty target, their opponents were bowled out for a disappointing 76.
S Jolly scored 39 for St Mary’s as they were dismissed for 104.
And opponents Friends eased to their target, losing just two wickets along the way.
Results –
Greengate 114-4, Europa Exiles 111 all out; Foresters 239-8, Radclyffe 98; Newtonhurst 200-5, Heyside 3rds 76; St Mary’s 104, Friends 108-2.
