Oldham stunner for Brookdale

GOLF: THERE were no fewer than six whitewash results in the ten games played in the Oldham and District Golf League as the dry weather continued to make the courses tricky.

Biggest shock of the week was Oldham’s 8-0 victory over Brookdale in the ‘A’ Division, a result which lifted Paul Pattinson’s side to within three points of the top as those above all marked time with 4-4 draws.

In the ‘B’ Division, Saddle-worth kept up the pace with a maximum home win against Ashton, but their lead is still only two points as Brookdale matched that score at home to Oldham.

The result of the week in the ‘C’ Division was Crompton and Royton ‘A’ going top after a 5-3 win at Blackley ‘B’.

But Crompton’s ‘B’ team are still looking for their first success after drawing a blank at home to North Manchester ‘B’, who celebrated their first victory with an 8-0 away verdict!
