Cassidy’s sights on win double

CRICKET: WOODHOUSES, who play host Irlam and entertain Prestwich 24 hours later, are looking to get back on track in the JW Lees Brewery Lancashire County League.
Chasing a target of 204 last time out in the league, Woodhouses were dismissed for 184 by Denton St Lawrence.
However, they did progress to the Walkden Cup second round a day later after winning at Dukinfield.
Woodhouses lost all their wickets for 149 but the hosts fell 32 runs short of their target.
Skipper Mike Cassidy wants nothing less than back-to-back wins, and said: “If we’ve any aspirations of lifting the title this season, these are the sort of weekends where we have to aim for maximum points.
“I’m getting a feel for what our strengths and weaknesses are now.
“We’ve lost a couple of games recently so it’s vital we get back to winning ways.
“A few of the players are inevitably going on holiday soon as we get into summer, but we have a good squad and the aim is to win the league.”
