Micklehurst out, Delph off
Date published: 31 May 2010
MICKLEHURST went out of the Oddfellows Cup on the toss of a coin against Linthwaite.
They were hoping a cup run would be a welcome distraction from the Frank Platt Championship, in which they are yet to record a victory, only for the Castle Lane outfit to exit the competition in the first round.
DELPH’S eagerly-anticipated clash with Scholes in the Drakes Huddersfield League premiership was abandoned because of rain.
With both sides expected to mount a title challenge this season an entertaining match was on the cards, but the sides never emerged.
Delph were due to face high-flying Hoylandswaine today, while Micklehurst were set to travel to Lepton Highlanders in their latest attempt to put points on the board.
