CRICKET:
HEYSIDE, the holders, get their Saddleworth League Twenty20 Cup defence under way tomorrow night.
The Little Hey Street outfit, who overcame Uppermill in last season’s final at Austerlands, entertain Stayley in the 20 overs per side thrash.
Uppermill are also at home in the first round — Friarmere are their opponents — while Shaw welcome Saddleworth to Holebottom Clough and Glodwick visit Hollinwood.
Austerlands, Droylsden, Greenfield and Moorside received byes. Bamford Fieldhouse declined to enter the competition.
Matches start at 6.30pm.
The second round of the competition takes place on Friday, July 9, while finals day is on Bank Holiday Monday, August 30, at a venue to be arranged.
