Mayes set for CLL debut

ROYTON opening bowler Ryan Mayes will make his debut for the Lake Garage CLL side when they take on the Ribblesdale League in the Reader Inter-League Challenge Cup first round at Middleton on Sunday, June 13 (1.30pm).
Also in the CLL side is Werneth all-rounder Alan Durose.
The team will be captained by Middleton’s Steve Davey, with his team-mate Scott Stanworth, the Shaw-based player, as wicket-keeper.
The rest of the side is: Nick Brierley (Norden), Bobby Cross, Danny Pawson (Heywood), James Rawlinson (Walsden), Oliver Makin (Norden), David Hamilton (Monton and Weaste), Zaffer Zaman (Ashton). 12th man: Reece Jones (Norden).
THE CLL colts defeated their Ribblesdale League counterparts in a friendly match held at Rochdale on Bank Holiday Monday.
Taking first guard, the CLL made 192 for nine from 45 overs, Grant Jones (Middleton) top scoring with 62.
The Ribblesdale League were then bowled out for 165, Harvey Fitton (Norden) taking three for 24).
