Swithebank right on time

CYCLING: NEIL Swithebank demonstrated his pedal power as he clinched victory in Oldham Century Cycling Club’s Ian J Crossley Memorial Mountain Time Trial.
The GS Surosa star recorded a time of 49 minutes and 44 seconds, on a route which took participants from Greenfield to Meltham and back.
Ryan Bonser of Wheelguru CC was seven seconds behind the winner.
MK Cycles/Pannone member Adrian Lawrence finished third with a time of 51:22.
Event secretary Tony Lyons said: “I would like to thank Paul Kangunga of Kirklees Council, for help and advice regarding the temporary traffic lights on the course.
“Thanks also to the contractors, who came out to assist the marshals and control the lights for us, all marshals, checkers and helpers.”
Oldham Century RC’s Ian Kenworthy finished in 14th place, with a time of 58:50.
First veteran over the line was Jimmy Froggatt of Will’s Wheels CC, in 54:39.
Rochdale Triathlon Club’s Jenny Brown was the highest-placed woman, in 1:15.15.
Bragging rights in the team category went to Wheelguru CC, thanks to Ryan Bosner, Adam Bonser and Michael Clark finishing second, seventh and eighth respectively.
