ANNE LEES

GOLF: ANNE Lees rolled backed the years with a stunning victory in Oldham’s Centenary Trophy.

At the age of 79, Anne is the oldest playing female member at Oldham, having been a keen golfer for over 40 years.

And she recorded rounds of 92-31-61 and 97-28-69 to land her latest prize.

The first-day prize was won by Linda Bailey (96-31-65) and second-day honours went to Bev Scholes (75-8-67).

First-sweep winner was June Boyle (135), the second sweep prize went to Liz Johnson (136) and the subsiduary winner was Edith Howarth.

Oldham defeated Manchester 4-3 with wins by Mary Buckley, Joyce Beech, Karen Phanco and Ann Rotchell.
