John weighs in with stunning win

JOHN Jones clinched the Chadderton Mill AC summer evening match with an incredible 70lb return.
With his maggot four foot deep at seven metres, he discovered 19 carp, the biggest of which weighed 6lb.
Aidan Bordiak (Tight Lines) was runner-up with 40lb of ide and carp.
DAVE Machin’s carp and bits came in at 14lb 4oz to clinch the Diggle AC match on Tanners Dam.
Chris Butterworth was second with small carp and silvers weighing 7lb 7oz.
IN the first of two Medlock Bridge AC open matches on Park Lake, Darren Webb won the contest.
He started on hemp and caster at 13 metres, catching 15 chub, one roach and perch, before pellet at 11 metres helped secure a 3lb bream and seven skimmers to weigh in 17lb 5oz.
Fred Prudham was runner-up with waggler and maggot tempting 13lb 13oz.
The second match saw Bob Harrison triumph with 27lb of skimmers and chub with pellet fished at nine metres — he also added a tench — while Dave Pollitt got 12lb 1oz of chub and skimmer.
MICK Jewitt (Tight Lines) won the fourth round of the Cairo AC summer series on Denshaw Vale, with pellet used at 12 metres taking a 4lb bream and skimmers for 8lb 8oz.
Danny Heywood finished second with skimmers weighing 4lb 14oz.
OLDHAM Central AC travelled to Hampton Springs’ oasis pool, where Jeff Isaacs’ landed carp, taken on worm, for a match-winning 17lb.
Runner-up Kevin Holt’s 15lb 7oz mixed bag included a 4lb barbel.
JOHN Mellor was victorious in Todmorden AS’s trophy match contested on Townhouse with 35lb of carp attracted by the long pole and pellet.
Dean Turner clinched second spot with 24lb 8oz, made up of carp found on the feeder and pellet.
