DELPH will be on the crest of a wave when they travel to Broad Oak in the Drakes Huddersfield League premiership tomorrow.
Skipper Grant Jones says spirits are sky high after his team’s impressive home victory over high-flying Hoylandswaine.
Batting first, the visitors posted 239 for six, with Lancashire’s Kyle Hogg claiming three for 88.
And he inflicted more damage with the bat, recording 111 not out as the hosts reached their target for the loss of three wickets.
Jones said: “Hoylandswaine had beaten us a week earlier, but we always felt we could match them on home soil. Kyle was superb for us.
“We are full of confidence. We won’t be taking Broad Oak for granted because they have some good players, but if we play to the best of our ability, we have a good chance of taking the points.”
The third round of the Sykes Cup follows 24 hours later, with Delph hosting Thongsbridge.
Jones added: “It is a potential banana skin for us, so we must not go into the tie with any complacency.”
MICKLEHURST are at Almondbury in the Frank Platt Championship tomorrow.
They are looking to get back on track after a home defeat against Shelley in their last match.
The visitors recorded 243 for eight, with M Brylowski claiming four for 48.
Brylowski scored 86 with the bat, but the hosts were still 38 runs shy of reaching their goal.
