MOORSIDE are on a recovery mission in the Armstrongs Office Furniture Saddleworth and District Cricket League this weekend.

The Turf Pit Lane outfit go to fourth-placed Heyside on the back of three straight defeats.
From being one of the early-season pacesetters — they won four of their first five league games — Moorside now find themselves in mid-table.

And it is the manner of those defeats which is a cause for concern.

Runs have been hard to come by — their highest score was 133 against Hollinwood — although Moorside will argue that they have been without several first-choice players of late.

It won’t get any easier tomorrow as Nick Campbell’s Heyside are going well and will be looking to keep in touch with the top three.

Stayley, on a high after amassing 316 against Greenfield six days ago, face the ultimate test against Bamford Fieldhouse.

Honey Garg smashed an unbeaten 170 in that mammoth score, but the opener will find things a good deal tougher at Hollin Lane.

Second-placed Shaw, who suffered a comprehensive defeat at home to Bamford in their previous outing, visit second-from-bottom Saddleworth.

Tomorrow: Bamford Fieldhouse v Stayley; Greenfield v Glodwick; Heyside v Moorside; Droylsden v Friarmere; Hollinwood v Uppermill; Saddleworth v Shaw. Open date: Austerlands.
