Boro blitz crushes Crompton

CRICKET: CROMPTON were on the receiving end of a Littleborough whirlwind in the Lake Garage CLL's Twenty20 Competition.

Professional Clinton Perren smashed an unbeaten 119 and overseas amateur Darron Williams 85 as Boro scored 241 for one - a run rate of more than 12 per over.

Not surprisingly, that target was way out of Crompton's reach, the Glebe Street men being restricted to 126 for nine.

Royton won their derby match against Werneth by 32 runs.

But they looked second favourites after being bowled out for only 95 at the Paddock, Luke Procter hitting 46, Alan Durose taking four for 13 and Joe Taylor three for 14.

Werneth were skittled for a mere 63 as Matthew Hodson (four for 16) and Procter (three for 19) ran amok.

Oldham's overseas amateur Keelan Gossayn led his team to victory at the Pollards, crashing an unbeaten 78 in Oldham's 178 for four.

Ashton were restricted to 149 for six despite Imran Jameel's 45.

Friday's results:
