ROYTON and Oldham have booked their place in the CLL’s John Willie Lees Twenty20 Competition quarter-finals following victories in their opening two matches in the South-East group.
Royton beat Werneth in a low-scoring match at the Paddock on Friday to back up their win at Ashton.
And Oldham saw off Ashton at the Pollards after beating Werneth in a bowl-out the previous week.
The last group matches will take place on Friday, July 9, when Werneth go to Ashton and Royton host Oldham.
Barring a miracle, Crompton will be joining Werneth in making an early exit.
The Glebe Street side have lost their first two matches and even if they beat Milnrow at home next month, they will need Littleborough to beat Walsden and hope that they can go through on net run rate.
