CRICKET: IMRAN Khan grabbed the headlines as Glodwick clinched a place in round two of the Saddleworth and District Cricket League's Twenty20 Cup.
The 21-year-old left-arm orthodox bowler recorded the best figures in the competition's short history, a superb six for two from four overs, to reduce Hollinwood to 52 all out.
“We've already got three spinners in the side, so Imran only bowls occasionally,” said Glodwick captain Nigel Stock.
“But I get a feeling he'll be asking me a lot more from now on and I can't really refuse.”
Glodwick had earlier made 148 for four from their 20 overs in the last remaining first-round tie.
Twenty20 Cup quarter-final line-up: Austerlands v Glodwick; Moorside v Greenfield; Uppermill v Droylsden; Saddleworth v Heyside. Ties to be played Friday, July 9.
