Clegg clinches top spot

Angling:

MEDLOCK Bridge AC ran three matches on Park Lane.

The first was won by Steve Clegg with 19lb made up of roach, chub and perch.

Bob Harrison followed with 15lb 14oz of skimmers, tench and chub.

In the next contest, Pete Cuniffe led the way with a fantastic 22lb 9oz of roach and skimmers, chub and tench.

Mick Jewitt was second courtesy of skimmers and tench adding up to 10lb 10oz.

Mick Tighe earned victory in the third match thanks to 22lb 4oz of skimmers, chub and tench.

Cunliff’s 17lb 3oz, comprising skimmers and tench, earned the runners-up slot.



TWO Chadderton Mill AC matches caught the eye.

The first was won by Lee Humphries’ 51lb 8oz which included 14 carp.

Second-placed John Pearson’s seven carp on double caster added up to 34lb 2oz.

Humphries also clinched the second contest with a 52lb net.

Aden Bordiak followed with ide weighing in at 41lb.



DAVE Machin triumphed in the Diggle AC evening match on Tanners Dam with carp and skimmers making 21lb 12oz.

Martin Taylor wasn’t far behind on 20lb 8oz.


CRANBERRY AC’s contest on Fleets Dam saw Jim Wild post 25lb.

THE Saddleworth and District Angling Society (SADAS) open match on Huddersfield Narrow Canal saw Fenton Tennant win with a tench-based 14lb 8oz.

Woodside Farm – Corn, caster and maggot all good for plenty of bites on this impressive day ticket water.

Park Lake – Maggot for roach and chub. Pellet fished over pellet. Day tickets available.

Huddersfield Narrow Canal – SADAS water fishing really well with plenty of tench showing especially around Ward Lane. Day tickets available on the bank.

Rochdale Canal – Plenty of fish being caught. Double figure weight of roach on hemp at Boarshaw.

Chadderton Mill Lodge – Maggot or caster fished right up in the water for loads of ide. Paste fished down the side against hay for some decent sized carp.
