King Fisher on a high at Heyes

Angling: PAUL Fisher swept to victory in Oldham Central AC’s match on High Heyes Fishery at Chorley.
Weights were good, and Fisher tipped the scales at 50lb 14oz, attracting ide and carp on the method feeder.
Paul Nield (Gilders), the runner-up, opted for caster baits down the edge to tempt five carp, barbel, bream and tench for a 46lb 9oz bag.
Third-placed Darren Jones had a 44lb 9oz net of ide taken on pellet and maggot at 10 metres, while Kevin Holt was fourth with 25lb 14oz of ide and silvers on the pole and pellet.
THE Lees and Hey Angling Society were impressed with Charity Farm, near Chorley, with plenty of carp as well as silvers and tench present.
Jack Cubby emerged victorious. He used the pole and pellet at nine metres for 40lb 9oz of skimmers and tench.
Next-best Alan Steele employed pellet tactics for 29lb 12oz of skimmers and tench.
PETE Cuniffe claimed first place in Monday evening’s Medlock Bridge AC match on the Park Lake.
He used hemp and caster to attract a mostly chub net which did include a few roach and lots of small perch for 12lb 8oz.
Ian Cox, in second place, employed waggler and maggot towards the bridge for 11lb 15oz of chub and perch.
Bob Harrison (Team HB) was third. He opted for the pole and pellet to entice 10lb 9oz of roach and chub as well as a solitary skimmer and tench.
The tench, plucked out of the water with seconds to go, weighed 3lb and pushed Dave Pollitt into fourth with 8lb 13oz.
THE Todmorden AS open on Townhouse went to Rob McKendry, who had 31lb 9oz of small carp on the pole and pellet.
Paul Wilkinson was second with an almost identical net of 30lb 9oz.
Tuesday’s Todmorden AS contest on Townhouse was won by Steve Hall with 26lb 5oz, from Tom Barlow (22lb 8oz).
And the latest match on Townhouse was won by Lee Cavanagh, who had 35lb.

LEE Humphries, of GTI Matchman, topped the Chadderton Mill AC Thursday evening contest on the club water for the fourth time out of eight matches.
Drawn on peg five, he caught 25lb of ide on caster up in the water at 12 metres, before switching to paste at six metres, where he landed carp to 10lb for a match-winning 64lb.
Teenager Aiden Bordiak was second with a 55lb net made up of ide totalling 30lb on the long pole and caster. He later switched to paste down the edge, where he put five carp to 10lb into his bag.
Darren Webb was third. He used maggot up in the water for 30lb of ide, before adding six carp to 6lb for a 46lb total.
o A FORMER travelling partner of mine, Paul Booth (Tight Lines, Shaw), took first place in the Todmorden AS open match on the Summit section of the Rochdale Canal.
He used the pole and caster to catch a steady procession of small chub to weigh in 10lb 3oz.
Derek Bowers (Drennan NW) was second with four chub on the long pole for 9lb 5oz, while Boyden Smith was third with two bream and a chub adding up to 7lb 15oz.
