Odds revealed for Chronicle finals

BOWLS: PREPARATIONS are well under way for the finals of the Oldham Evening Chronicle Bowling Handicap at North Chadderton Social and Bowling Club on Saturday (5.30pm).
The draw, with the latest odds of each player in brackets, is:
Steve Copeland (5-1) v Darren Griffiths (5-1); Andrew Buckley (5-2) v Garry Coverdale (16-1); Alan Hodson (2-1) v Lee Schofield (12-1); Barry Sowerby (14-1) v John Ashton (10-1).
ENTRIES are being accepted for the Saddleworth League’s Tweed Cup, heats for which will be played on Saturday, July 24 (1.30pm practice, 2pm start and strike-out) at Hollinwood Cricket, Springhead, North Chadderton and Friezland.
The finals will be held at Delph BC on Sunday, July 25 (12.45pm practice, 1.15pm start and strike-out).

THE draw for the last 16 of the Oldham Women’s Bowling League’s Peter Wild Cup, to be played next Tuesday, is:
Stalybridge Rec v Nimble Nook at Delph; Hollinwood Cricket ‘A’ v Hollinwood Cricket ‘B’ at St Pauls; Grapes v Springbank ‘A’ at Werneth; Werneth ‘A’ v Coalshaw at Crompton BC; Royton Park v Crompton ‘A’ at Shaw RBL; Dunwood v Royton ‘A’ at Diggle; Church v Royton ‘B’ at Moorside; Waterhead v Stamford Park ‘C’ at Uppermill.
THE Greater Manchester Junior Merit will be held at Hopwood Unionist Club on Sunday (noon).
Entry (£2) can be made before the competition starts at noon.
The winner and runner-up will qualify for the British Junior Merit.
