Jennifer lands two-round prize

GOLF:
JENNIFER Sykes won Mr Captain’s Competition played over two rounds at Crompton and Royton.
She carded scores of 67 and 74 for a 141 total, a shot clear of Shirley J Brown, who returned 70 and 72 for 142.
Brown was the runner-up on a card play-off from Brenda Bellis, who also just missed out on the first-round prize, which went to Irene Carr (97-26-71).
The second-round prize was won by Joan Pedder (102-34-68).
Meanwhile, the bronze team played their final match of the season at home to Oldham and halved it, 2.5-2.5.
Victorious for C and R were Jennifer Kenworthy (4 & 3) and Jennifer Sykes (4 & 3), while Noreen Nicholson halved her match.
