Bunton ready to hit the Wall

BOXING: FRIENDS Mark Wall and Phil Bunton will go toe-to-toe on Saturday in the culmination of a charity fund-raising event.
Wall and Bunton, along with Joe Marland, organised an amateur boxing competition between themselves with all the proceeds going to Dr Kershaw’s in Royton.
The trio, all from Oldham, took it in turns to box each other, with the two men with the most wins going forward to contest the final.
And after Wall’s defeat of Marland in a re-match — the first bout ended in a draw — the stage is now set for the final confrontation at the Tommy Woods Boxing Academy, Tame Street, Stalybridge (4pm).
The bout takes place over three, three-minutes rounds, and Wall said: “I had never boxed before, but it’s really exciting.
“We were doing it as a laugh at first and then we thought it would be a good idea to raise some money for Dr Kershaw’s.
“We have been going round to local businesses to get sponsorship and we’re hoping to raise in excess of £1,000.”
Tickets costing £5 to watch the boxing are available on the door and the trio are planning to organise a fundraising bash at Victoria Inn, Hollins Road on Sunday, July 25.
To sponsor the boxers or for more details call Mr Wall on 07707 265730.
