CRICKET: EXPERIENCE overcame youth in the first Dave Firth Memorial Match at Heyside Cricket Club.
The game was organised in honour of Dave Firth, who died on New Year’s Day at the age of 50.
Dave was a member of the Heyside team that carried all before them in the 1990s and later served as club secretary.
Steve Firth captained the ‘Heyside Young Guns’ and Mark Barnes was skipper of the ‘Heyside Leg Ends’.
And the ‘Leg Ends’ won by four wickets after the ‘Young Guns’ were dismissed for 163.
The day raised £1,200 for Dr Kershaw’s and the Heyside junior cricket development fund.
