TWO home games tomorrow and Sunday offer Woodhouses the chance to keep the pressure on at the top of the Lees Brewery Lancashire County League division one table.
Currently third, Mike Cassidy’s side are five points behind leaders Glossop and just a point off Denton West.
Woodhouses host Thornham tomorrow, before Denton visit 24 hours later.
The league isn’t the only thing on the players’ minds at the moment.
They travel to Farnworth in the LCB Cup quarter-final on a date yet to be confirmed, possibly next Thursday.
And they face Denton West in the Walkden Cup final on Sunday, August 1. Woodhouses were handed home advantage for the tie.
Still plenty to play for — Jones
DELPH skipper Grant Jones has set his sights on securing a second or third place finish in the Drakes Huddersfield League premiership.
The club, who are in the Romida Sykes Cup final, fell out of the title race when they suffered defeat at the hands of leaders Honley.
They currently sit in third place on 58 points, level with Hoylandswaine and but trailing Shepley by 19 points and Honley by 26.
But with plenty of cricket still to be played, Jones is keen to push the rest of the pack all the way.
He said: “Obviously the league title is out of our reach now which is a shame.
“The Honley game was disappointing for us but we have to dust ourselves down and move on.
“On paper we have some relatively straightforward games remaining, but you just never know how those sort of matches are going to pan out.
“We have silverware to compete for as well, so there is still plenty to look forward to this season.”
