Stamford stutter at Dukinfield

Date published: 28 July 2010

STAMFORD suffered a severe setback at the top of the Oldham and District Golf League standings, going down 7-1 at Dukinfield in the 'A' Division.

Second-placed Ashton found the going similarly tough, losing 6-2 away at Saddleworth.
And the main beneficiaries were new table-toppers Denton, who fought out a hard-earned 5-3 victory against Werneth.

Brookdale came out on top 6-2 in the basement battle with Oldham.

The 'B' Division stayed exactly as it was, with all four matches remarkably ending as 4-4 draws.

Denton retain their lead at the top.

North Manchester 'A' failed to take advantage of the inactivity of Blackley 'A' in the 'C' Division, losing 6-2 at Fairfield.

With two matches left, they will need to improve their form to overtake Blackley 'A' on the run-in.
