Buckley and Clark lift Greengate

GREENGATE maintained their position at the top of the Ashton and Oldham Alliance table after victory at Europa Exiles.
Despite a third wicket partnership of 88 between Richard Lawrence and Andy Hodgson, Europa could only muster 118 all out, Vinny Clark claiming three for 20.
Lee Buckley’s 36 led the reply for Greengate, who clinched a three-wicket triumph.
Friends earned a convincing win at St Mary’s HC and remain in second spot, two points behind the leaders with a game in hand.
St Mary’s were dismissed for 112, Neil Slater top scoring with 29 not out.
In reply Rashid hit eight sixes and eight fours in an unbeaten 85 as Friends reached their goal without loss.
The following day saw Newtonhurst lose ground on the leaders with defeat at Heyside thirds.
The visitors posted 161 for five, Steve Potts contributing an undefeated 79. Gary Drew took two for 16 for the hosts.
Drew mustered 56 with the bat to help Heyside to a four-wicket win.
Karl Stone took two for 13 for Newtonhurst.
