OLDHAM are out of the Lake Garage CLL’s Twenty20 Competition after suffering an eight-wicket defeat at the hands of Norden in their rearranged quarter-final at the Pollards yesterday.
After taking first guard, Oldham were bowled out for 116, Craig Joy top scoring with 36 and Josh Poole taking three for 25.
And Norden cruised to their target, professional Michael Price making an unbeaten 55 in their 117 for two.
o MILNROW won the John Willie Lees Wood Cup at Walsden yesterday when they proved much too strong for a less-experienced Unsworth outfit.
After being put in to bat, Unsworth slumped to 38 for three before former Werneth batsman Paul Entwistle and 17-year-old Andy Gregoriou (62) repaired much of the early damage.
But, after reaching 144 for five, Unsworth collapsed to 162 all out as Alex Scholefield (five for 17) and professional Kuldeep Diwan (three for 25) completed excellent figures.
Scholefield made a fine 40 after opening Milnrow’s reply and Max Power (48) continued the good work as Milnrow reached their target for the loss of five wickets.
Power was voted man-of-the-match, while Scholefield was man-of-the-competition for his 241 runs and 11 wickets for 105.
