Angling: AIDEN Bordiak stole the show in the first event of the Chadderton Mill AC Dave Slattery memorial series.
An impressive performance from the teenager from Tight Lines, Shaw, saw him net an impressive 58lb, including five carp for 40lb and the rest made up of ide.
Aiden fished paste down the side towards a near bank tree for the carp, and maggot right up in the water for ide, beating Mick Tighe (Gilders) into second place with his 56lb 4oz catch made up of just nine carp taken on corn fished at six metres.
Organiser Lee Humphries (GTI matchman) concentrated on catching ide and it paid off to the tune of 45lb 8oz. Drawn on peg seven, Lee fished double caster at twelve metres to put a fish in his net every put in.
JIM Wild took first place with his 19lb net made up of small carp taken on pole and pellet fished across in Cranberry AC’s match on Partridge Fisheries' Ribbon lake.
Rod Illing was second with a mixed net that fell to caster and corn and included roach and ide for 17lb.
LEES and Hey AS had probably their worst match result to date with their match on Border Fisheries Island pool seeing a fair few blanks.
Winner on the day was Paul Mason, with his 13lb 4oz coming in the last thirty minutes when two carp fell to his meat and pole tactics.
THE last of the Cairo AC summer series, fished on Denshaw Vale, saw Darren Jones (Tight lines) take first place with his pole and pinkie approach netting him a level 5lb of small skimmers and tench.
There was a tie for second with Mick Jewitt and Paul Lord (both Tight Lines) both including small skimmers taken on maggot.
STEVE Baines (Tight Lines) was the winner of an out of sorts SADAS open match fished on the Ward Lane length of the Huddersfield narrow canal.
Fishing pellet at eleven metres, Steve caught 10lb 7oz of skimmers before two boats came down the canal and ruined sport.
CONRAD Taylor (Gilders) netted himself eighteen carp with the biggest 8lb all taken on paste fished at five metres to win the Chadderton Mill AC Thursday match on the club water with a brilliant 68lb.
THIS week's Chadderton Mill AC evening match, fished on the club water, saw Conrad Taylor (Gilders) win his second match in a week with his 62lb 8oz net made up of carp to 10lb taken on paste fished at just two metres.
