BOWLS: REIGNING British Parks champions Central Lancs and Pennines can book a place in this year’s final by overcoming East Midlands on Sunday (2pm).
For a repeat of last year’s final, Central have selected plenty of players from the Oldham area.
The home venue of the Success To the Plough, Rochdale, sees Matt Gillies, Alan Hodson, Colin Lane, Steve Copeland and Mark Dwayre carry the local flag, while the away venue at Stretton features top young Chadderton prospect Jonathon Copeland.

TONGE extended their lead at the top of the Manchester Premier League to 30 points following their 12-1.5 (205-150) home victory over South Manchester RBL.

HAZEL Lewis (Werneth Cricket Club) enjoyed one of her biggest successes when she lifted the Colwyn Bay Bowling Festival Rose Bowl.
Hazel fought her way through a high-quality field before clinching the title with a 21-19 final success against Diane Johnston.
THE semi-finals and final of the Saddleworth League’s Law Swallow Cup will be held at Nimble Nook on Sunday (11am start). The draw is: Crompton ‘A’ v Springhead ‘A’; Springbank ‘A’ v High Crompton.
