Julia captures Oldham prize

GOLF: JULIA Wild held her nerve to win the Lady-Captain’s prize at Oldham.
She shot 187-57-130 in the two-round competition to edge out Jackie Lees (150-19-131) by a single stroke.
Oldham lost 4-3 to Davyhulme Park in the semi-finals of the South-East Lancashire Handicap Shield.
SHEILA Cooper is revelling in major glory at Saddleworth.
She emerged victorious in the women’s president’s prize thanks to a two-round total of 190-52-138.
Sheila won by a shot from Kay Orme, who posted 149-10-139 for the runner-up spot.
