BOWLS: TONGE have one hand on the Manchester Premier League trophy following their 11-3 (200-141) victory over Longwood.
Gary Ellis led the way with a 21-6 success.
Tonge are at the Nursery Inn next Wednesday (7.30pm).
THE Failsworth League Merit will be held at North Chadderton Social and Bowling Club on Sunday (noon), when the finalists are:
D Robinson (Cot); R Kelly, N Pollitt (HMSO); S Schofield (Nimble Nook); S Mellor (North Chadderton); C Brooks (Royton Cricket ); D O’Brien (Springbank); S Galston (Star)
The same league’s pairs competition will take place next Wednesday (6.45pm) at Hollinwood, Royton, Springbank and Springhead.
FATHER and son David and Jonathan Copeland, and fellow Chaddertonian Frank Cassidy provide local interest in the Your Choice men’s singles at Norden BC on Sunday (6pm).
Springbank’s Paul Heap reached the finals with a 21-16 second-round victory over Barclay Warrington.
