WITH two games to go before he calls time on his cricketing career, 63-year-old Mel Whittle needs nine more wickets to make it 100 CLL victims for the season.

The Chronicle is supporting the veteran Oldham bowler’s quest for a glorious end to a 49-year career and you can, too, by cheering him on against Ashton at Rayner Lane on Sunday.

A decent haul there would set up a grandstand finish at home to Middleton the following week.
