THINGS didn’t entirely go to plan for Uppermill in the Armstrongs Office Furniture Saddleworth and District Cricket League last weekend.

Defeat by Droylsden was followed by a Tanner Cup final rout by Bamford and a last-four exit in the Twenty20 competition.

But with a few days to recover, Uppermill should be in tip-top shape to welcome Heyside on Sunday.

Heyside, in contrast, are on a high for the clash of the second and third-placed teams.

They retained the Twenty20 Cup with their defeat of Moorside in the final.

With only two games to go, victory for Heyside would seal runners-up position behind Bamford.

Heyside and Bamford are already assured of a place in next season’s LCB Cup, but the other three spots are still up for grabs, with a host of clubs in with a shout.

Uppermill and Glodwick appear to have done enough but Shaw, in fifth, are in danger of being overtaken in the final throes of the season.
