Champions issue statement of intent

TABLE TENNIS: THE Oldham and District Table Tennis League has started with a total of 257 players in 56 teams competing in the four divisions.
There are 23 different clubs this season, including new teams from Blue Coat and Dobcross.
Reigning champions and perennial title favourites Glodwick signalled their intentions for the campaign with a 10-0 whitewash of Grotton ‘A’, their victorious team comprising of Mark Ramsbottom, Jeff Craighill and Khamal Hussain.
And the new team of MC and MA had a good start with a 9-1 win over BAE ‘B’.
George Jones and Colin Boardman were unbeaten, while Mick Hill won BAE's consolation point.
A strong-looking Honeywell Lane ‘A’ team prevailed 9-1 against Hollinwood ‘A’.
