A DAZZLING black tie dinner and dance was held during celebrations to mark 80 years of Saddleworth Rangers Amateur Rugby League Football Club.
A total of 300 guests joined in the stylish affair at the George Lawton Hall, in Mossley, including VIPs David Gent, director of strategic partnerships from the Rugby Football League, and Trevor Hunt, chairman of the National Conference League.
Current and former club players, as well as club stakeholders and special guests who had travelled as far as America, enjoyed the sparkling celebrations.
During the evening, the club launched a glossy commemorative brochure which features the club’s history up to the present day.
Terry Flanagan, club chairman, said: “The evening was thoroughly enjoyed by all and the phone hasn’t stopped ringing with people asking when we will be holding another similar event.
“It was a fitting celebration for our 80th anniversary.”
