Win romp for Vets

RUGBY UNION: A TRY from man-of-the-match Dom Hall set the ball rolling as Oldham Vets defeated Ashton-under-Lyne 36-5.
Hall’s effort was converted by Jim Forster, who was also on the mark after Dave Roberts touched down.
Ashton managed a breakaway try before half-time, but Oldham’s defence held firm in the second period.
A fine solo score by Graham Tricky, which again was converted by Forster, was followed by a John Selby double.
Forster managed to break Ashton’s defensive line to score the final try of the game.
