Bordiak’s big return

TEENAGER Aiden Bordiak emerged victorious in the Dave Slattery Memorial final on Chadderton Mill Lodge.
It was a superb match, with the top four all weighing in more than 30lb and section winners having over 20lb.
Bordiak led the way, thanks to a 53lb net. The Tight Lines rod tempted ide up in the water with caster at 12 metres before switching to pellet at four metres for carp, which included an 8lb specimen.
John Pearson, of Gilders, had 16 carp on the long pole and chopped worm for an excellent 43lb 8oz.
Ricky Salmon was third with nine carp on corn at four metres, the biggest weighing in at 10lb for a 32lb 14oz total.
Steve Hall was fourth, with chopped worm netting 32lb 8oz of carp and silvers.
Section winners were Ian Cox (27lb 4oz), Chris Shaw (29lb 14oz) and Darren Webb (20lb 2oz).
PETER Cuniffe won the Medlock Bridge AC’s open match on the Park Lake.
Weights were good, and Cuniffe tipped the scales at a cracking 15lb 7oz. He used caster and hemp to catch a 3lb tench, chub, roach and skimmers to edge out Darren Webb, who had a few skimmers and roach on caster before a switching to pellet for chub.
In a bid for more bites, Webb changed to the method feeder, which attracted two bream of 2lb and 3lb for a 14lb 1oz net.

TOM Barlow landed the Todmorden AS open on Townhouse thanks to a net of silvers and carp for 54lb 12oz.

Park Lake: Sport fine with caster, maggot and pellet the attraction. Peg eight is the most consistent, although fish are being caught in all areas. Day tickets available on the bank.
Huddersfield Narrow Canal: Sport has slowed, although there still a few fish being caught. Pellet for mostly skimmers and tench. Day tickets available on bank.
Rochdale Canal: Free fishing on some lengths. Caster, bread punch, pellet and red maggot are tempting fish.
Chadderton Mill Lodge: Incredible fishing with maggot and caster up in the water catching everything. Paste down the side for decent-sized carp.
Twingates: Top and bottom lodges fishing well. Skimmers, tench and carp making up weights. Members only.
